The LaSalle Sabres Bantam Tier 1 Hockey Team Captures Big Bear Firebolt Tourney Championship !!
It was a wonderful weekend of perseverance & success for the LaSalle Sabres Belding Walbridge Bantam Tier 1 Hockey team who were crowned Bantam division Champions at the Big Bear Firebolt Tournament held in Michigan this past Dec 8th - 10th weekend. This team defended the title that last year's LaSalle Sabres team had captured in the Peewee division. The Sabres struck Gold by defeating the Monroe Ice Hawks in the Championship game by a score of 4 - 2. The Ice Hawks were an extremely tough opponent who had defeated the Sabres in the preliminary round robin by a score of 3-1. The Championship game saw a hard fought battle that continually tested each team's ability on the penalty kill and the power play. The Sabres killed off almost 4 minutes of the first period down two men before taking a 2-0 lead at the end of the first. Monroe fought back to make it 2-1 early into the second and refused to give up. The team's see-sawed back and forth to make it 3-2 early in the third before Alex Varacalli's back breaking goal reestablished the two goal lead with 10 minutes remaining. The Sabres were continually challenged & taunted by a very frustrated Ice Hawk team, but refused to break away from the team's game plan and held on for the victory and in turn overall Bantam Division Championship. They also defeated opponents from Lakeland and Grand Rapids in the Round Robin. Highlights of the weekend were stellar performances by the team's goaltender, Bryan Vollmer who was the team's MVP over the course of the weekend. Other standouts were Dylan Durocher, Michael and Adam Mancini, Rick Voyvodic, Ciaran Ross, Nick Langille and Zack Binder, who each contributed with exemplary play or a timely goal, when their team needed it. "It was a total team effort the entire weekend with many highs and few lows. This team has struggled to come together thus far this season, but may have turned the corner and realized their full potential as a team and what they can truly accomplish when they work together. They met every challenged they faced this weekend, both physical and mental." Head Coach Barry Yetman said. "They faced competition this weekend, stronger than any they've seen all year, but remained focus on the team's goal. The coaching staff and their parents couldn't be prouder of what each of them helped the team achieve this weekend." Yetman added The team would also like to thank the many fans, family and friends who helped cheer the team onto victory and showed unwavering support the entire weekend. A great time and a great memory for all !

LMHA Bingo Positions
Dear LMHA Member,

As you may be aware the Bingo Industry in Windsor is changing. We have gone from needing 11 or 12 volunteers at each Bingo date, to only requiring 2 or 3 volunteers. However, the role these volunteers now play is more important and certainly more tedious in terms of counting cards and money. To ensure that we maintain a high degree of accuracy and minimize our losses for each Bingo session we are looking at re-establishing our Bingo Volunteer List with a number of members that can commit to support the required timeframes of the Bingo’s and can learn the new system. Even if you are already a Bingo Volunteer today and are on Betty’s list please fill out the application form
(click here for a copy) and email it to me at dvieira@lasallesabres.com or regular mail to:
